Home Remedies for Pimples

There are many different remedies for treating pimples. Over the years many have tried various household and inexpensive products in an effort to get rid of pimples fast.

Toothpaste

The ingredients in toothpast tend to dry up pimples, leaving them less red and maybe smaller. People that have tried toothpaste recommend putting it on the pimple before going to bed.

As a general rule, toothpastes that contain fluoride or whitening ingredients may be aggravating to the skin.

Allow the toothpaste to dry for several hours or overnight.

Some people get relief with the toothpaste method, while others experience no change at all. It is definitely worth trying since it is a very low cost solution.

Treating Acne With Toothpaste - A Simple 3 Step Process

If you have been searching for acne relief it is likely that you have heard of using toothpaste. The results found by the people who have used toothpaste to control acne can vary a lot depending on the skin of each person using this remedy, as well as how intense the acne is.

While there is debate on the effectiveness of this treatment, the only way for you to find out for yourself is to try it. The following tips will provide you with tips on how you may be able to cure your pimples by using toothpaste.

First, and most important, it is best that you pick a toothpaste brand that has a low amount of fluoride. Do this to prevent any serious skin damage.

Follow these three steps for using toothpaste to control acne:

1. Use lukewarm water to gently wash your face or any other part of your body that has the pimple you want to treat. With the water, use some baby soap that is non-allergenic. Lightly dab the skin to dry it. Be sure that you do not scrape the skin when you are drying it.

2. Step two is the step where you are to apply the toothpaste. Gently dab the toothpaste on the pimple, making sure to completely cover it. Once applied you should be able to notice a cool feeling on your skin. This is a good sign. When you experience this cooling feeling you can then add a second application of toothpaste to the pimple. Allow the toothpaste to completely dry. If at any time you feel burning or any other type of irritation you should wash the toothpaste off immediately using lukewarm water. If this happens you can try a different brand of toothpaste or you can try other remedies including lemon juice,, tomatoes, or ginger.

3. The last step of this process is to wash off the dried toothpaste. After you allow the toothpaste to dry and then sit for several minutes (10-15 minutes is long enough), use lukewarm water to gently wash away the toothpaste. For this washing do not use any soap. Also, it is best to allow the affected area to air dry. If you want to dab the area dry be sure to use a soft cotton material and gently dab. Never allow toothpaste to sit on your skin for long periods of time. Do not sleep overnight with toothpaste on your skin. This can cause irritation and damage to the skin.

Though you may not see immediate results, you can safely use toothpaste to attempt treatment of acne. Just be sure to carefully read over these instructions again and be gentle with your skin.
